Mohair Fleece
Our fleece comes from Inglenook Farms' colored angora goats. Shearing is twice a year, usually late December prior to kidding and then again in early June prior to the hot days in central Texas.
All of the fleeces are offered skirted and washed. They are kept separate by the animal the fleece was shorn from. Repeat customers can request the same animal fleece with the next shearing.
These fleeces are the natural color as it is on the animal. There are some white fleeces available also.
Mohair fleece is used by doll makers, can be tailspun; we can process the fleece for you into roving, batts, yarn. Custom blending is available for these products.
Kid fleece (up to 1 year of age) - $25 per pound
Yearling fleece (1 year to 2nd birthday) - $22.50 per pound
Adult fleece (over 2 years of age) - $20 per pound
Show fleeces - these fleeces have won ribbons in different shows, price varies on age of animal and show reults - $30+ per pound.
